Be In The Moment, This Moment

Oil Painting the Corkscrew Sanctuary

The mission was to travel to the Everglades and capture a moment. Last week the newsletter that was sent out discussed the adventure to the Sanctuary. Check out the previous post for more information. This week we introduce the painting that was completed and talk about the process.

The Video

Check out the video which gives a two minute timeline of the process from the thumbnail sketch to the finished piece.

It is altogether different when you see the painting framed and on the wall. When this painting was in the process, my mind was actually back in the moment during this peaceful, clear, crisp morning. The sounds from birds and the wildlife were unbelievably beautiful.

Reflections in the Alligator Flags

This is a 9”X12” oil painting in the aquatic swamp area. The painting revolves around the Bromeliad with the fallen trunks of trees surrounding and framing this plant. Which is peeking through the Alligator Flags. One would expect to see soil and not water underneath these plants. That is what makes this terrain so special. This painting is being offered at, “The Studios of Key West, Holiday Artisan Market.” or can be purchased in the Artwork on this website.
